PENERAPAN METODE FILTRASI DAN ADSORPSI DALAM PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH INDUSTRI TAHU

Abstract


The majority of Indonesia's population consumes tofu as a staple food.and is even a source of protein from 4 healthy 5 perfect. In its production, the tofu industry produces liquid and solid waste. Liquid waste from tofu has a high level of pollution compared to solid waste. Tofu liquid waste is obtained from the results of washing, boiling, pressing and printing. Liquid waste of tofu has a high content of organic matter and levels of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) which, if thrown away, a may be damaged on reducing the carrying capacity of the environment. To reduce the potential for environmental damage, waste treatment is carried out using the research method used is analysis of physical tests, alkalinity, acidity, hardness (water handness), permanganate number, CO2aggressive, Fe, chloride, BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), and DO (Dissolved Oxygen) in tofu waste before and after filtration. Utilizing liquid waste treatment equipment that uses filtration and adsorption is one of the liquid waste treatment methods. Based on the research results obtained from the filtration and adsorption methods of tofu waste water samples obtained in Gedang - Porong, the waste before and after filtration showed less effectiveness due to a decrease in the dissolved oxygen content of the waste.
